Know what you're agreeing to before you sign up

TLDR reads privacy policies and terms for you and gives you an instant, plain-language GDPR summary: what data is taken, why, the risks, and how to spot practices that expose you to scams, manipulation, or data misuse.

How to install

Free • No account needed • Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave & Arc

2 flashcards, not a 40-page document

Every policy is distilled into a quick, scannable summary you can actually read.

Your data at a glance

What's collected, why it's processed, who it's shared with or sold to, where it goes, and how long it's kept.

Red flags, surfaced

Data selling, vague consent, profiling, tracking, and any practice that exposes you to scams, manipulation, or data misuse.

Your GDPR rights

Access, deletion, objection, withdrawing consent, and how to complain to a data protection authority.

Works like Grammarly, but for privacy

1

Land on a policy or sign-up

TLDR quietly detects privacy policies, terms pages and registration forms.

2

Tap the floating lens

A small button appears bottom-right, just like Grammarly. One click opens the panel.

3

Read the GDPR summary

Get two plain-language flashcards in seconds — no legalese, no scrolling 40 pages.

Install in 5 steps

  1. 1Download and unzip the TLDR file above.
  2. 2Open chrome://extensions in your browser.
  3. 3Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
  4. 4Click "Load unpacked" and select the unzipped folder.
  5. 5Done! The TLDR icon appears in your toolbar — click it on any privacy or sign-up page.
What is Developer mode?

It's a toggle on Chrome's extensions page that lets you install extensions from a folder on your computer, before they're published to the Chrome Web Store. It doesn't change how your browser works. It simply reveals extra buttons like "Load unpacked" so you can run TLDR right away.

The summary is AI-generated guidance to help you decide — it isn't legal advice.
